USThe OPTN/UNOS Membership and Professional Standards Committee (MPSC) will be hosting a series of educational events to help members become familiar with performance monitoring efforts. The first of these events is a webinar to be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, to describe the Bayesian methodology recently adopted to identify programs for more specific review of post-transplant performance.

The goals of this webinar are to:
- Increase the transplant community’s foundational knowledge and understanding of the Bayesian methodology used to identify those transplant programs that may be underperforming in the area of patient and graft survival in preparation for upcoming MPSC performance monitoring process instructional offerings.
- Address questions from the transplant community surrounding the Bayesian methodology identification process.
Upon completion of this session, the participant will be able to:
- Describe the reasoning for moving to the Bayesian methodology.
- Compare the previous algorithm for identifying underperforming programs to the new Bayesian algorithm.
- Summarize how the Bayesian methodology affects large, medium, and small volume programs.
