National Webinar to Review Liver Special Public Comment Proposal

During a special public comment period scheduled for October 8 – November 1, 2018, UNOS will offer a national webinar to provide members an opportunity to learn about proposed changes to liver allocation and ask questions of the presenter/subject matter experts. Following the national webinar, each region will have a follow-up webinar for regional discussion and feedback on the proposal. The national webinar will provide an important opportunity to prepare for regional discussion of the proposal.

The regional follow-up webinar will include a summary-level review of the liver proposal, but will focus primarily on regional discussion. The regional follow-up webinar dates are provided in the table below. A separate notice with the registration link for the regional webinar will be sent to the region in advance of the webinar. Regional voting representatives will receive additional information about voting prior to the regional webinar.

As a primary tool for learning about the liver proposal, you are encouraged to attend the national webinar or view the recording before your regional webinar.

The final, approved liver proposal will be available on the OPTN public comment page when the special public comment period opens on October 8. You are encouraged to post individual comments on the OPTN website during the special public comment period. Whether you voice feedback on the national or regional webinar, or post feedback on the OPTN website, your voice is important and considered during the policy development process.
