AST member Dr. Melissa Greenwald has been selected to serve as the new director of the HRSA Division of Transplantation (DoT).
Dr. Greenwald joined HRSA/HSB approximately two years ago and served as a Medical Officer within DoT. She has served as the Acting Director for the division for the last 8 months.

AST TIRN has provided research grants for fellows and junior faculty for more than 15 years. These one- or two-year grants are awarded to support the fellow or young independent investigator conducting a specific research project during the term of the grant. The AST introduced its newly elected 2016-2017 board members at the recent American Transplant Congress (ATC) in Boston. Anil Chandraker, MD, FRCP, FAST was inducted as president and will serve a one-year term in office.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Dr. Chandraker earned his medical degree from Glasgow University and completed his residencies at Withybush Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary. He then completed fellowships at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston.
